Upward Bound Math/Science students enjoy all the benefits of the regular Upward Bound program, but the classes and activities are focused on Math and Science. It is also expected that students who sign up for the Math/Science program will try to get their college degree in mathematics, science, or engineering.During the College Prep Academy, Upward Bound Math/Science students attend College Prep courses in the morning, then work with college faculty on special topics and research projects like alternative energy, stream ecology, geology, astronomy, marine biology, archaeology, etc. in the afternoon. During this time at the College Prep Academy, students can earn up to $60 per month!
During the school year, Upward Bound Math and Science students participate in the standard Upward Bound activities and can earn up to $40 per month.
